Julie West
Founder and Owner of ReDesigns

In 2016, after years of teaching and sewing for the public, Julie saw a need that inspired her to create job solutions for her very own family, as well as, other families throughout the city.

As Haley, her second daughter, approached her high-school graduation from the Special Education Program, Julie recognized the need for adaptive measures for their family concerning long-term living. She took her experiences and love for repurposing scraps and discarded items and created a business.

With the help of local textile suppliers and donations from individuals, supplies and materials for one-of-a-kind products were compiled. Many opportunities and fabulous people came in and out of the process throughout the first 7 years. Much was learned, and the company developed while creating job opportunities for a small team of members with a broad range of skill sets. Redesigns moved to the Coley Road location several years into the formation of the company.

In 2023, ReDesigns began partnering with The Shine Foundation, a local non-profit with the sole purpose of supporting and connecting with Special Needs Families. This collaboration has now ignited workshops and opportunities for heightened engagement with the Special Needs community. Volunteerism and financial support options are available now as well through the Shine Foundation.
